Production/Tasting Notes

2022 Gather is 100% Albariño grown at Rocklands from vines planted in 2018 at the most elevated spot on our hillside.  The grapes were harvested on August 30th, and after a destemming and very short skin contact, were pressed to a single 225 liter barrel.  Fermentation and 9 months of aging occurred in barrel.  The wine was bottled in early June 2023.  No additions, including sulfur, were made to the wine.  It's neither fined nor filtered, so a small amount of sediment remains in bottle.

We love how our Albariño seems to straddle this line of round, yet fresh.  There's a certain body and texture to it, yet it's rather quaffable at the same time. A touch of salinity permeates the wine alongside notes of ripe pear, kiwi, green apple, and almond.  This wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to 5 years.
